GIVE YOUR BUYERS CONFIDENCE THAT THEY ARE GETTING THEIR MONEYS WORTH!

These are not authentication papers. If the piece is not thought to be ancient you will be instructed to have the piece authenticated by TAAA approved authenticator before an appraisal can be done.  That way you get double protection from having a fake artifact in your collection.
I do not give verbal appraisals at the shows.
I cannot give appraisals over the internet or from photos.  I must have them in hand.
Artifacts will be held until payment in full clears my bank.
For quickest service use the Pay Pal button provided or call or E-mail me with your Visa Mastercard (I will tell you how to send it over the Internet securely).  If I deal with you in person I prefer cash.

PRICES

For Large Collections:
$85 Per hour / 3 hour minimum.  You can set an amount of what you do not want the price of the appraisal to go over.  In that case I will do the higher dollar pieces until I reach your dollar limit.  The lower dollar pieces will not be included in your appraisal.

Estimated time on large collections - 6 to 10 artifacts per hour (sometimes more).
Small items such as beads, low grade pieces can be done very quickly so the cost of the appraisal may not be as much as you think.

What you get:

Large collections - Written Appraisals

Each piece is individually scrutinized and checked for restoration, modern chipping, etc.
There will be a high (retail) and low (wholesale) price given for each piece.
Each piece will be identified by type to the best of my ability and measured for length only.
In some cases I give a comment or short description (according to size of the collection).
There will be photos made of the whole collection, an appraisal done for each case.
Everything will be recorded and documented so the artifacts can be clearly identified as to their price (i.e., Frame #3 - Case of Early Triangles).
A written appraisal will be given, dated and signed, with the TAAA, Bob McWilliams raised seal embossed on each page to keep someone from tampering with the appraisal certificate.
15 years of experience.  Each appraisal given is with the knowledge that I have gained through 15 years of making my living FULL TIME in the artifact business.

By the piece -  Written Appraisals
$22 per artifact
Owner of artifact(s) pays shipping and insurance both ways.
Make sure that your pieces are wrapped well enough  that you could play a game of dodge ball with them, because that is the treatment they will get while being in transit.
Unless instructed otherwise, insurance for the amount of the appraisal will be bought at the time of shipment back to you.
Bob McWilliams and the TAAA is not responsible for damage to artifacts during shipment.
Be sure to insure the pieces for enough to satisfy you in case of loss or damage in transit.
Once here, your points will be handled over soft carpet to insure they are not damage during the appraisal.

What you get:
A frameable certificate with the following information: Type, County Found, Length, Width, Found by, Owned by, Value ( a Retail and a Wholesale price).
(Above info given unless the owner requests not to have that information on the paper or it's not available).
My signature, a price and photo will be embossed with the TAAA, Bob McWilliams raised seal over the value, signature and part of the photo to keep someone from tampering with the certificate.
A clear photo of the piece as close as possible to its original size.
15 years of experience.  Each appraisal given is with the knowledge that I have gained through 15 years of making my living FULL TIME in the artifact business.

If the piece is not valued at $50 or more there will be no certificate written and a $5.00 fee assessed.  If the piece does not pass our authenticity test, we will charge $12.00; but If you resubmit the piece after a TAAA approved authenticator papered it then we will credit the $12.00 back to you and only charge another $10 because we will consider $12.00 credit already paid.

VERBAL APPRAISALS
Verbal Appraisals per single artifact - $12
Large collections are $85 per hour with a 3 hour minimum

First, I do not give verbal appraisals at artifact shows or anywhere I do not have the chance to sit down with my equipment and go over the piece thoroughly.
There is so much more to an appraisal that some one handing you a piece and asking its value.  An artifact has to be checked for modern chipping, restoration, authenticity, compared to others similar to it and to see what the latest pieces like it have sold for etc.  So, please don't ask me to do that.

What I can do for you to save you money is, do a verbal appraisal on single pieces and whole collections.  Because I do not have to do the huge amount of paper work, photography, mailing etc. I can save you dollars.
You will still have to mail or bring me the artifact.  I run several tests on these artifacts to find modern re-chips, restoration etc.
This is done in private, if you bring artifacts to me and we have an agreement to do them that day, you will have to go shopping, movies etc. while I go over the artifacts.

Large collections are still the same, $85 per hour with a 3 hour minimum but it will cost you much less as the paper work time is half the work.
Single pieces are $12 each (if an artifact is not valued a least $50 there will be a $3.00 fee each for culling those out of your collection).

TAAA members (with current memberships) always get 10% off their appraisal
