I do not know what happened to the photos on this page! The computer ghost got them!
I will put them back up later!
A mixture of bird points and archaic to paleos this weekend.
This is the only bird point found that was not a Perdiz. According to the state (that has worked this site) the Perdiz points are about 400 years old. There are older Perdiz in Texas but these are the younger variety.
The point type below may be a Guerro as the finder (Bill LaFrance) suggested. The Guerro was the last flint arrow point made in Texas. Seeing how the Perdiz are of the younger class then it makes sense that this piece was made in that or a later time period.
Again, becuase of the younger age of some of these artifacts we began finding bone awls. Here is one
found by Bill LaFrance that is the needle type.
On the opposite end of the spectrum, here is a parallel piece that was found in the field, very deep. It
shows to be from the 10,000 year period.
Archaic pieces were found also in the field.
And this awesome flat disk was found. Look at the edges, they are beveled. The base is perfectly worked flat.
More Perdiz and bone awls came out of the site next to the creek.
The "premier" find of the day was found by Phillip "Bebo" Robinson. At first glance this appears to be a Kinney or Friday blade. Upon closer inspection though blade had extreme basal grinding. It was ground so well that you could see the grinding not just feel it!
