Juan Davison has found the cure for closing your eyes during a photo... don't look at the camera!
Ed Ferris is looking at John Higginbothams super colored knife!
|Jim Pilgram found a thin Montell in the field.
Kathy Wolff found another. Kathy and Mike Wolff (long time TAAA diggers - since Harmeier's) drove down
from Oklahoma to dig with us. Mike said he found a short cut so it would only take him 10 hours to drive it
next time!
Mike Wolff with a Super La Jita.
The rain may have slowed us down but it did not stop us!
Mike Wolff is standing out in the rain and pulled two knives out - while it was raining!!! Go Mike!
John Higginbothom found this knife in the 60's. It was at the base of Falcon dam. The material is some
kind of slate or softer material, not flint. Notice the flaking patterns on the blade. Someone took a long
time making this piece. The knife is not particuarly sharp on the cutting egde leading one to believe that
it may have been a ceremonial piece of some kind. 10 1/4 inches long.
Jim Pilgrams South Texas surface finds!
This is Gail McKee's first 'whole" artifact" find! A few minutes later she grabbed another! Congrats Gail.
Ancient Bowling ball? Probably not but it was very round!
Tracy McKee has an eye for those pretty birdies!
...and he is passing the experience to Gail!
Sorry Darlene, I know we retook this photo but the one on the left is much! cuter! haha
New member Harley Patton is holding a couple of his first TAAA finds.
Ray and Darlene Hawkins have returned to our digs after a long lay off. They are back to their old tricks
of finding arrowheads! Remember the days of Censontli when they found 52 to 55 complete points in
one weekend?
It does not happen often but I broke this old point with the backhoe. It had a little basal grinding on it too.
