8/20-21 Special Dirt Issue!
The special dirt was really good to us BUT so was the creek site this weekend. Let's hope our luck continues like this!
The first find of the day (and this was out in the field - a beautiful Scallorn. Found
by Frederick Martin.
Juan Davison pulled a nice Perd off the screen early in the AM.
Jerry found a sweet Perd!
I heard Carla Cox scream, she found this awesome Langtry (her first she says) in the dirt that fell off the
side of the table when I put it on the screen. She said that she would always check that dirt from now on!
The banded colors made this Early Triangular!
This was an awesome Uvalde, found by Henry(our landowner). It is much prettier than the photo!
Nice base tang knife was found by new member Harold Shellenberger!
One helluva 4 inch Perd. Unfortunately, I clipped the base with the backhoe.
Petrified wood Ensor, just beautiful!
The yellow really stood out on this pretty Ensor find!
The second super thin large Langry of the day.
As far as color you will be hard pressed to see a prettier LaJita.
This is a Sugar quartz piece. Unfortunately the little diamond sparles do not show up in the photos. Look
at the steep beveling. A great find even with the base broken.
Red Jasper was brought in by the bird point Indians.
A true crying shame! The flaking was awesome on this piece!
Some super colors in this Perd!
Another Andice!
A very rare find for this part of Texas. A Garza point. Look at the find notching in the center and the
serrations on the side!
A super Ensor!
This bone alw is not broken. Look how they sawed it off!
Rarer than hen's teeth! A gorget/button made from a sea shell! It came a long way! Probably a scallop shell.
A spectacular find! Look at the flaking!
I believe this to be a Paleo drill, probably Plainview. It is ground on the sides and the base. Look closely,
it is ground so much you can see the grinding!
The perdiz preform on the right is a great piece to study ancient flintknapping! look how it was started
and for some reason not finished.
Bird point drill on the left and Perdiz drill with bit broken on the right.
Perdiz drill on right!
John Higginbotham and BJ's take for one day! Not BAD!!!
