Patti Even's Lerma was made out of brown sugar quartz and still had the pitch that was used to haft it
on to the foreshaft of the spear! The pitch is a tar substance that had to be brought from the ocean or I
have heard rumors that there are some out croppings of it around Texas but I cannot confirm that.
The pieces below are Mayan. They belong to the cook where we eat at the dig site. Her husband found them
in a cave in Mexico when he was 12 years old. there is a celt, showing use wear and a whistle. He wants to sell them but wants $500 for the both of them. In my opinion they are worth about $250 Max. If you are interested please contact Bob and he will put you in touch with the seller. No sellers on this one, I am just trying to help them
out. These are authentic in my opinion. I have a Mayan whistle and have owned many celts such as this.
