Guidelines For Digs!  Please Read and Understand For the Enjoyment of all!
This is a general guideline for digs - each property may be different due to agreements with landowners!  Please ask if you are not sure...

WE DIG RAIN OR SHINE - NO REFUNDS FOR ANY REASON

A note about these guidelines - No one likes rules BUT after doing these digs for several years we have learned that we have to have rules to keep the landowners and other diggers happy.   The digs are for your pleasure and we want you to enjoy your self to the MAX!  Most of these guidelines were due to problems we incurred during past digs and are an attempt to correct them.  One final note about the cost.  These digs are designed to make money, no one is hiding that fact.  Please read these rules and be sure you understand all the cost involved so that we will not have a misunderstanding.  If the digs are profitable we will continue trying to lease ranches and bring you the opportunity to dig exciting new places for years to come!  Have a great time and we hope you find your artifact of a lifetime!

#1.  Call in and sign up for a dig as late as Thursday evening 8 PM before a dig.  If I am not here I have the recorder on. It is your responsibility to ASK for directions to the dig when you sign up.
#2.  If you are digging Saturday we ask that you prepay your Saturday dig buy Thursday evening 8 PM prior to the dig.  If you are digging Sunday only we ask that you prepay your dig by Thursday 8 PM prior to the dig.  You can pay at the dig site for Sundays dig if you are a Saturday digger with no penalty.
#3.  If you do not prepay your dig by Thursday and want to pay at the dig there is a $10 fee.
#4.  Never show up to a dig without calling before Thursday 8 PM prior to the dig!  We might have to call off a dig.  Also, if you do not pre-sign up we will not know if we have enough people to have a dig.
#.5  If you sign up and do not come there will be a $25 fee billed to you.  This is only because we have to cover our expenses as a business.  At the same time you can support what we are doing so that we can search for more sites and continue having a great time!
#6. Always leave a number/s or email/s that I can get a message to you in case there is an emergency cancellation of a dig. Leave a number with a recorder or an e-mail address that you have access to all the time to check before driving long distances.
#7.  By coming to the digs you are agreeing to have your point/s photographed BEFORE leaving the site.  The video camera photos we take during the dig do not count, we need to photograph your artifacts with our still camera for magazine and documentation. You are expected to come to our table and show all artifacts before leaving the premises.  Please, quit digging in time to have your artifacts photographed before it gets too dark!  All artifacts (broken or whole) must be taken to the TAAA table to be inspected and documented.  We want to see ALL of what you find. On digs with a large attendance there may be a $20 refundable deposit taken.
#8.  Dogs are not allowed. In extenuating circumstances (like you are out of state on vacation etc.) you pet might be allowed if kept on a leash and away from the diggers.  We cannot be responsible for dog bites or dog fights. Barking dogs will not be tolerated, that is why we leave the city.  Some landowners even put out poison.

#9.  Everyone attending a TAAA sponsored dig must be a member of the TAAA.

#10.  Most hand digs are $60.00 per day.  Cover up fees are included in this fee.  Backhoe digs are usually $130.00, no ½ days for backhoe digs.
#11.  Anyone wanting to dig for a half day can usually can do so.  The price is $40 per half day.  Daylight to 12 PM  is one half day and 12 PM to dark or 6 PM on Sunday is one half day. Diggers starting in the morning must declare a full days dig or ½ day dig at the time and pay accordingly.  NO REFUNDS if you decide not to stay for the afternoon, or rain etc. Afternoon diggers are allowed into the site at 11:30 PM to set up, earlier arrivals must pay the full day fee. All fees subject to change without notice.

#12. TAAA members children and grandchildren (6 years old and up) - [if you want to know why just ask] will be allowed at one half  price ($30 each for ½ day or for a  whole day) whether they dig or not.  Children taking part in back hoe digs pay full price.  You are responsible to keep your child in your hole and not let them disturb other diggers.  All diggers  and  children are required to stay at the site unless we have a surface hunt agreement. No children can go near a body of water or swim without their parent or guardian. All children will be required to wear a legal flotation device when swimming.  We cannot watch the children, they are your responsibility.

#13.  Any adult has to pay the dig fee, whether they dig or not.  You are allowed a visitor while digging but anyone staying over 30 minutes will be charged a dig fee. Visitors may  not surface hunt while visiting. If you come the night before and want to watch the diggers, you are not allowed to pick up artifacts on the site, in throw dirt etc. Wait until you are paid to pick up artifacts.   How would you feel if you had dug all day and someone picked up a point that you had the chance to find . Just point it out to the closest digger, you will get yours! We allow visitors for family members to bring meals water etc. The paying diggers watch visitors and have complained about nonpaying visitors hunting, thus this guideline.
#14.  On most ranches anyone entering the property will be asked to sign a release of liability, whether digging or not.  Children included.
#15. Primitive camping fees are $10 per night.  Some ranches have bunks or B&B's for a nominal fee. (On Ranches that contro the camping their fees over ride our normal fees, in most cases they are cheaper.
#16.  Digs will be held rain or shine.  Bring your rain coat.  No cancellations once we are at a site, no refunds due to weather.
#17.  We mail out Dig cards to members that do not have computers/  Members must request to be put on the dig list in writing. A $10 FEE WILL BE ASSESSED ANNUALLY FOR BEING PUT ON THE DIG LIST.  THIS PAYS FOR YOUR MAIL OUTS!  You are not automatically put on the list when signing up or renewing for the TAAA!
#18.  HOURS OF THE DIGS - Digs are held from a little after daylight to dark on Saturdays.  Please vacate the ranch on Sundays by 6 PM.  Campers are allowed on the ranch  5 PM on Fridays.
#19.  Metal detectors are allowed on some ranches.  Dig fees and camping fees apply.
#20. Alcohol - Some ranches do not allow alcohol consumption, please ask before bringing any on the property.  If allowed please use an unmarked cup for consumption.
#21.  Sales of items are not allowed on digs without permission from the TAAA.  We will consider consignment sales for your artifacts or products at digs.
