Call 830-367-7012 to sign up for digs!!!
The site before we started! Then after we pushed all the dirt back in and cleaned up the site. The
after photo was taken from the back side of the property just opposite of the before photo, but it is
still the same two trees. Notice most all of the shrub trees are gone and it is just as level or maybe even more
after we left!!!
The first test holes are dug.
Paul Richardson hits pay dirt with the first of many fist axes to come out of this campsite!
Frank Falk is admiring this beautiful "Root Beer" thin Covington!!!
Gary Mueller finds the first Pedernales, a "Commanche" style Perd (a collectors term, the artifact has nothing to do with the Commanche Indians which inhabitaed this area nearly 4000 years after this point was made.)
Ike Postell drags out the first Montell of the dig! A large knife form.
Ike is on a roll and finds a fine thin Covington blade. Nice color! The flint in this area is top quality!
Frank finds a huge base tang knife!
Gary racked up to hands full. Pedernales, Stemmed knife, a huge scraper that had some awesome secondary flaking on it and a ?
Billy Hull found a large Pedernales (mid-archaic in the time frame.)
Ike starts attracting nice artifacts! We all claimed that they were crawling through the ground to him before the weekend was over! haha
Rob Hansen found a nice "Butted Knife".
Here is another that is poking out of the wall waiting for Ike to grab!
Look at the thinness of this super long artifact!
Gary Mueller's take for the day!
Large Almagre on the left.
Ike Postell kept dragging out heart breakers - he made up for it later!!!
